NK Ambassador to Address British Parliament

North Korea’s Ambassador to London Ja Song-nam is scheduled to address Britain's parliament next month.

David Alton, a member of the House of Lords, told Radio Free Asia Monday that Ja will address a joint session of both houses of parliament on March fourth. The envoy will then hold a question-and-answer session with British lawmakers.

Quoting a British source, Radio Free Asia said Ja is expected to ask for parliament’s support and cooperation to allow the North's Choson National Symphony Orchestra to hold a concert in London this September.

The report added that Ja’s planned speech is seen as part of Pyongyang’s efforts to step up its diplomatic activity in Europe, beginning with Britain.
