The nation will host an annual youth exchange program with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) beginning on Thursday.

The Foreign Ministry said some 110 representatives from Korea and Southeast Asian countries will take part in the cultural exchange program in Ilwon, Gangwon Province.

The eight-day program aims to promote understanding and friendship between young people from the two sides.

This year’s Korea-ASEAN Youth Exchange marks the tenth year since it was first held in 1998.

The ministry noted the teen participants will hold a mock workshop on economic cooperation on Friday and announce the 2008 Seoul Declaration based on discussion results.
