The nation's chief nuclear envoy said Wednesday that North Korea should come clean on its suspected uranium enrichment program (UEP).
Chun Yung-woo, Seoul's chief delegate to the six-party talks, told a news conference that the North should give a full account. He said that could mean an account of past equipment, materials, technology and purchasing activities related to UEP. Or, he said, it could be about all suspicions that have been raised, or whether it's an activity the North stopped doing or continues to do.
Regarding the North's disablement of its key nuclear facilities, Chun said the goal of preventing Pyongyang's additional production of nuclear materials has been mostly achieved. At the same time, he said the current pace of disablement is not enough.
He added that despite recent delays in the North's nuclear disclosures, he believes Pyongyang does not want to derail the process. Chun added that he's waiting for the North's "complete and accurate" disclosures.
