Two Koreas’ Nuclear Envoys Meet in Beijing

The nation’s top nuclear negotiator Chun Yung-woo has met with his North Korean counterpart in Beijing.

Chun and North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-kwan discussed ways to resume the six-party nuclear talks, starting with the North’s declaration of its nuclear programs.

The meeting follows talks held Tuesday between Kim and U.S. top nuclear negotiator Christopher Hill. Those talks held in Beijing failed to yield agreement on the nuclear issue.

Since Chun and Kim met only two days after the U.S.-North Korea talks, much attention is being drawn to whether they will achieve a breakthrough.
