RKI wins ABU Prize for External Radio Broadcast Programs

A special program about the agony of AIDS patients in Korea produced by Radio Korea International won the ABU Prize for External Radio Broadcast Programs at the 38th Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union held in Hong Kong on October 31st.
The special program, titled "Alienation, More Painful than AIDS", depicted the current situation of AIDS and its patients, the measures taken by the government and the society at large and especially the importance of love and care toward the patients.
The program, aired on RKI channels on September 3rd, attracted great responses and drew much sympathy from the listeners.
ABU prize was installed in 1964 in Sydney, Australia to expand the avenues of cooperation and understanding among member countries by means of broadcasting.
