China and North Korea have sharply rejected a U.S. State Department report that included them in a list of countries that deny religious freedom to their people.
North Korea dismissed the report as `groundless mudslinging.' The North's state-run news agency also criticized the U.S.-led forces fighting in Afghanistan, saying they are persecuting Muslims.
China's Foreign Ministry said the report `distorted the facts and made groundless accusations.'
