South Korea is seeking negotiations with Russia and Japan in an effort to resolve their fishing dispute.
Talks with Russia are set to begin on November 22nd, and talks with Japan will follow later.
An official at the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs said South Korea is seeking one of three options: joint fishing with Russia, securing of an alternative fishing ground and expansion of the fishing areas off the Southern Kurils.
Japan banned South Korean vessels' fishing off the four Russian-held islands also claimed by Tokyo.
