North Korea has criticized the South Korean government’s stance on the issue of the North’s human rights, saying that it goes against the spirit of the joint declaration of June 15th, 2000 and the atmosphere of reconciliation.

Uriminzokkiri.com, a state-run North Korean website, said Saturday that a South Korean foreign ministry official made a reckless remark in a recent United Nations Human Rights Council meeting. The official urged Pyongyang to improve its human rights conditions at the U.N. council session on Monday.

The North claimed that diplomats from Seoul’s new conservative rule were making an issue of Pyongyang’s human rights internationally.

Also, on the past Thursday, North Korea's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland condemned South Korea’s remark on the human rights issue.
