Gas mask exports to U.S. on hold

South Korea's exports of gas masks to the United States which swelled to records amid the spreading anthrax scare ... are put on hold. This after the federal firearms authorities have demanded local importers to get import licences before importing.
The official said the move is expected to deal a heavy blow to Korean exporters since it takes six weeks for local importers to acquire import licences and another six weeks to go through necessary import procedures.
The demand for Korean gas masks shot up in the United States after the anthrax scare. They have been popular among Americans for high quality.
