Olympic Torch to Pass through Pyongyang in April

Organizers of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games say the Olympic torch will pass through the streets of Pyongyang for the first time ever next month.

According to the Chinese Olympic organizing committee Wednesday, ceremonies marking the Olympic flame's journey will be held in Seoul and Pyongyang on April 27th and 28th.

It would mark the first time for an Olympic torch to pass through the communist state and to travel through both Koreas, one after the other.

The flame is scheduled to be lit on Mount Olympus in Greece on March 26th. Athletes will carry it in a 33-day relay that spans 22 world cities before its arrival in Beijing.
