'Pyongyang Golf Tour May Begin in June'

A South Korean travel agency says tourists may be able to play golf in Pyongyang as early as June.

Seoul-based Pyeonghwa Air Travel Agency Corporation said it agreed with the North Korean government to begin the golf tour to its capital city in June. The tour operator added that it also planned to offer tours for North Korea's Arirang Festival in August.

An official at the travel agency said the company was fine-tuning details with Pyongyang. The official added that the tour schedule will be set as soon as South Korea’s Unification Ministry gives its approval.

The company plans to offer five-day golf tours that will send 150 South Korean tourists at a time. Tour groups will fly direct via a chartered plane from South Korea's Gimpo Airport to Pyongyang.
