Small Biz Leaders to Travel to NK

Leaders of small and medium-sized firms will go to North Korea on Wednesday for a four-day visit.

The group of 159 leaders is scheduled to arrive in Pyongyang around 11:30 a.m.

On Wednesday and Thursday, they will visit major industrial sites in the North and tour the North Korean capital.

On Friday, they will hold a seminar on the North’s investment conditions and inter-Korean economic cooperation projects.

The group will return home on Saturday.

Organizers of the trip said the group is composed of figures keenly interested in doing business in the communist state.

The trip was jointly organized by Acheon Global Corporation President Kim Yoon-kyu and tour operator Pacific Holidays, following an invitation from the North's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland.

It's the first trip to the North for small business leaders since President Lee Myung-bak was sworn in last month.
