'NK Applies Stricter Rules on American Tourists'

A Swedish travel agency says North Korea applies stricter rules on American tourists than tourists from Europe.

The chief of a Sweden-based travel agency marketing packages to North Korea made the remarks in an interview with Voice of America on Thursday. North Korean authorities are said to allow European tourists to stay in their country for up to 15 days, while American travelers are limited to five days.

The agency chief stressed that North Korea needs to ease restrictions on foreign tourists to boost its tourism industry.
