Gov't fixes anti-terror measures

Announcing a set of anti-terror measures, the government said Tuesday it will expand the no-fly zone surrounding nuclear power plants and other key atomic facilities to 18 km from the current 3.6 km.
The government will also upgrade anthrax to a first-class epidemic from the current third-class while at the same time adding smallpox as a first-class epidemic in an effort to tackle potential bioterror threats.
These were among a set of the government's anti-terror measures
fixed at a terror-related ministers' meeting presided over by Prime Minister Lee Han-dong.
The government plans to establish separate anti-terror postures to deal with five forms of terrorist attacks: armed terror, chemical, biological, nuclear and cyber attacks.
To that effect, the government said it will set up a "national council against terror" under the National Security Council.
In addition, the Defense and Home Affairs ministries and the National Intelligence Service will also set up a joint anti-terror center which will draw up detailed plans for the five terror categories by the end of this month.
