JCS: Navy Never Trespassed On N. Korean Waters

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) has dismissed North Korea’s claim that South Korean military vessels crossed its maritime border.

A JCS official said the South Korean military carried out its usual duties south of the Northern Limit Line in the West Sea, and never infiltrated into North Korean waters.

On the statement by the North’s Navy spokesman denying the western sea border, the official said such North Korean claims were nothing new. He said the North’s move was directed at the new South Korean government.

In a statement on Friday night, the North Korean Navy called the NLL a "ghost line," and warned that it would not sit and watch perceived reckless provocations by South Korean warships in its waters.
