A humanitarian aid group for North Korea plans to build a rehabilitation center for the disabled in Pyongyang, the first such institution in the communist country.

An official at the Lighthouse Foundation said Tuesday that the organization has agreed with the North to break ground for the center in the Daedong River area in late May with completion scheduled for June 2011.

At the five-billion-won facility, South Korean doctors will work with their North Korean counterparts temporarily.
