Politicians, artists, businessmen and environment specialists from South Korea, China and Japan will launch a Northeast Asian Environment and Culture Union in Seoul on Friday to cope with environmental problems in East Asia, including the yellow dust blown from Mongolia and northwestern China.
Aides to Rep. Kang Un-tae said Wednesday the launching ceremony will be held Friday morning at the National Assembly building on Yoido.
Each spring, seasonal westerly winds carry an enormous amount of sand and harmful aerosols from China and Mongolia to Korea and Japan.
