Top Portal Chiefs Named PR Ambassadors for OECD Meeting

The heads of the nation’s major portals have been appointed as publicity ambassadors for a ministerial gathering of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The Korea Communications Commission presented on Monday letters of appointment to the heads of seven portals, including Naver, for the meeting to be held this June in Seoul.

The selected portals will operate as the official portal sites for the ministerial gathering, which is focused on the future of the Internet economy. They will deliver the latest news on the event through their main pages and issue special features. The portals will also air live related events during the high-level meeting.

Some 25-hundred top officials and business leaders from 47 countries, including the 30 OECD members, will attend the ministerial. The two-day meeting will open in Seoul on June 17th.
