Seoul Urges NK to Return to Negotiating Table

A Unification Ministry official has urged North Korea to return to the negotiating table if it wants inter-Korean summit agreements to be implemented.

The official told reporters Wednesday that North Korea should not criticize South Korea's policies and government officials' remarks.

He invited the North to discuss ways to implement the pacts through dialogue, adding that the Lee Myung-bak administration has never denied the June 15, 2000 and October 4, 2007 inter-Korean summit declarations.

The official also said that South Korea's Olympic cheering squad will not be able to travel to Beijing via North Korea by train, citing safety concerns.
