Genetically modified corn entering the nation can be used in processed food once it passes tests on imported food.

The Busan Food and Drug Administration allowed genetically modified corn to pass through customs after it arrived in Ulsan early this month.

However, civic organizations are expected to protest the decision, as the corn was not tested for pesticide residues.
