The Netherlands is considering having its firms operate in North Korea.
Radio Free Asia quoted Dutch consulting firm, GPI Consultancy, as saying Tuesday that the Dutch government will send a business delegation to the reclusive state in early September to study the possibility of Dutch firms advancing into the North.
Founder of GPI Consultancy, Paul Tija, said the Dutch government is discussing with North Korean officials the agenda for the business delegation’s visit.
The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce said Dutch companies have shown keen interest in the North’s market following progress in efforts to resolve Pyongyang’s nuclear standoff. The commerce body said the business delegation’s trip will provide an opportunity for Dutch firms to build a market in the communist state.
The business delegation will comprise officials from agricultural and textile companies as well as electronic and computer programming firms.
