NGO to Send 200 Tons of Flour to NK

A civic group will ship 200 tons of flour from Busan Port to the North’s Hamgyeong Province on Tuesday.

The domestic branch of the international relief organization Join Together Society (JTS) will give the 150-thousand dollars worth of flour to nine nursery, elementary and middle schools.

Amid growing concerns for the food shortage in the North, JTS is the first South Korean nongovernmental organization to send relief goods. Other groups are also seeking emergency food aid to the communist country.
