Seoul, Tokyo to strengthen tourist exchanges for World Cup

With the World Cup set to kick off in six months ... South Korea and Japan have agreed on a set of measures ... to boost trouism exchanges.
Tourism officials of the two countries met on the southern Jeju Island Friday to work out ways to take advantage of the World Cup to spur tourism.
The two countries agreed to introduce a railway pass linking the two nations and a card that allows for ticket purchases in both Korean won and Japanese yen. The two nations plan to streamline immigration procedures and expand package trips, including school excursions.
Other measures include joint hosting cultural and sporting events, including youth soccer matches ... and promotion of the 20 World Cup venues through World Cup-related Web sites.
The two countries are to co-host the World Cup from May 31st through June 30th of next year.
