Nuclear Envoys of Two Koreas Meet in Beijing

South and North Korean chief delegates to the six-party nuclear talks met in Beijing Friday.

A diplomatic source in Beijing said Kim Sook and Kim Kye-kwan held talks at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse for about an hour.

It's the first time the South Korean diplomat has met the North Korean nuclear envoy since he was appointed as Seoul's chief delegate. Their meeting was described as a get-to-know-each-other session, but they may have had discussions on the North's nuclear declaration.

The South Korean diplomat also met Chinese chief delegate Wu Dawei in the evening.
