North Korea has test-fired short-range missiles into the West Sea.

A source reported on the North's missile test on Friday. But it did not confirm how many missiles were fired off North Korea's western coast near Jeungsan County.

The missiles were presumed to be Russian-designed Styx ship-to-ship missiles with a range of 46 kilometers.

The South Korean military is trying to determine whether the test was part of normal military training.
