The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said Tuesday Foreign Minister Han Seung-soo, concurrently the president of the ongoing 56th U.N. General Assembly (UNGA) session, was tapped as foreign minister for the "Dream Cabinet" envisioned by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The ministry said in its December edition, the WEF's World Link magazine put Han in its Dream Cabinet line up as foreign minister.
U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and Greek Foreign Minister Yeoryios Papandreou were also selected as Dream Cabinet foreign ministers.
The bimonthly magazine said, "Han Seung-soo has been successful in convincing the U.S. government that the sunshine policy is the best way forward."
It added that assuming this position the day after the terrorist attacks in the U.S., Han has been thrown into the thick of things, and is adamant that the U.N. has an important role to play in resolving the crisis.
Since 1998, the magazine has annually appointed major political leaders to its Dream Cabinet, whose members are believed to be courageous, progressive, and honest.
