A Korean delegation has left for the U.S. to attend one of the world’s leading biotechnology conventions.

The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Family Affairs said it sent a delegation to the USA Bio 2008, which will run from Tuesday to Saturday in San Diego.

The delegation comprises representatives of government, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and pharmaceutical companies.

The Korean delegation will work to sign memorandums of understanding on technology exports and attract foreign investment in Korea.

It will also seek to draw foreigners to the Bio Korea 2008 slated for October this year in Osong, North Chungcheong Province.

The 17th international biotechnology event being held in San Diego will bring together 22-hundred representatives from 60 countries.
