A parliamentary panel approved a revision to the Public Workers Law Tuesday to enable the government to hire foreigners. The proposed revision opens public posts to foreigners, excluding those related to law enforcement, policymaking and national security, whenever an appropriate native citizen cannot be found. The revised bill has passed the Government Administration and Local Autonomy Committee. If passed by the National Assembly, the revised law would permit government employees up to three years leave to take temporary positions in the private sector.
