Mourners have gathered at a hospital in Seoul to offer their condolences for a South Korean tourist killed Friday at North Korea’s Mount Geumgang.
Hyundai Asan President Yoon Man-jun and Hyundai Group Chairwoman Hyun Jeong-eun on Saturday visited Seoul Asan Medical Center, where the body of the late Park Wang-ja is being kept. Hyundai Asan is the operator of tours to the North Korean resort.
Unification Minister Kim Ha-joong also visited the hospital and expressed his condolences to the victim’s family.
An autopsy conducted Friday night shows that a bullet went from the back of Park's shoulder through her chest. But the National Institute of Scientific Investigation says it'll take time before final autopsy results come out.
The victim’s family called for a thorough investigation into the shooting of the South Korean tourist, dismissing the North’s explanation as nonsense.
North Korean authorities have been quoted as saying that Park had crossed over a two-meter high fence and entered a restricted military zone.
