'Verifying N.Korea's Nukes to Be Real Tough'

Korea's top nuclear negotiator says verifying North Korea’s nuclear dismantlement will be a formidable task.

Kim Sook told reporters in Beijing Saturday that the verification plan is likely to face obstacles, as all parties to the six-way nuclear talks are expected to actively share and coordinate their views.

He said the International Atomic Energy Agency will decide on joining the verification once the plan is finalized.

On if the verification will start before August 11th, Kim said the United States is hoping to swiftly draw up the plan to begin the process as fast as possible.

He added that verification will also begin depending on the results of a working group for denuclearization on technical details of the verification plan.

August 11th is when Washington will remove Pyongyang from the U.S. list of terrorism sponsoring countries.
