Hyundai Asan Questions NK Initial Report on Shooting

The head of a South Korean company operating tourism businesses in North Korea raised questions over the North's initial report about the shooting death of a South Korean tourist at the North's Geumgang mountain resort.

Wrapping up his four-day visit to the resort, Hyundai Asan President Yoon Man-joon told reporters Tuesday that there are some contradictions regarding North Korea's first report about the shooting, but declined to elaborate any further.

North Korea reportedly told Yoon that a surveillance camera overlooking the site of the shooting was not operating at the time the victim was gunned down.

Yoon also said he failed to persuade North Korean officials to cooperate in investigating the shooting death.
