3 Stations Agree to Alternate Olympic Broadcasts

The three major Korean broadcasters KBS, MBC and SBS will take turns in broadcasting major games of the summer Beijing Olympics.

The Korean Broadcasters Association said the three agreed to alternate broadcasts popular with the public to prevent wasting airtime and for audience rights on channel selection.

The three baseball preliminaries will be shared by each broadcaster while two broadcasters will relay each of the three soccer preliminaries.

If Korea advances to the quarterfinals in soccer and baseball, each station can make their own broadcast decisions.

They also agreed to alternate broadcasts of the 2010 soccer World Cup and the 2012 Olympics.
