A South Korean government official said Wednesday that if the two Koreas hold foreign ministerial talks on the sidelines of a regional forum in Singapore, Seoul will raise the issue of a North Korean soldier's killing of a South Korean tourist at the North's Mount Geumgang resort last week.
Suggesting the possiblity of the foreign ministerial talks, the official said that it is natural for the government to raise issue as it is responsible for the protection of its people's lives and welfare.
However, the official said that how and when the meeting would take place has yet to be determined.
As U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza is expected to attend the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), Asia's largest security forum, she is also expected to hold talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun.
