Gov't Analyzing NK Hotel CCTV Data

Government officials investigating the shooting death of a South Korean tourist at North Korea's Mount Geumgang resort began analyzing CCTV footage Friday claimed from the victim's hotel.

Unification Ministry spokesman Kim Ho-nyoun says the National Institute of Scientific Investigation is analyzing the visual data the joint government probe team obtained from two hotels near the area of the shooting.

They expect to confirm when Park Wang-ja left her hotel for a morning stroll, during which she was shot dead by a North Korean soldier.

But Kim said it's hard to say when the taped footage and analysis results can be publicized.

The probe team will hold a meeting Saturday to examine the probe results and coordinate expert opinions.
