The ASEAN ministerial meeting will also seek to adopt a charter.

The foreign ministers of ten ASEAN member countries will sit together with their counterparts from China, Korea and Japan to discuss a regional free trade agreement on Tuesday.

A forum on regional security will be held on Thursday to tackle the North Korean nuclear problem with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in attendance.
