About 300 overseas ethnic Korean teachers and educators from 43 countries have gathered in Sokcho, Gangwon Province for an international forum.

The forum, sponsored by the Education, Science and Technology Ministry, aims to help educators who teach and support descendents of ethnic Koreans in foreign countries.

The five-day forum that opened on Friday will feature special lectures by celebrities as well as workshops on Korean language education.

The participants will also experience various aspects of Korean culture, and will visit popular tourist destinations during their stay in Korea.
