North Korea and the United States will reportedly launch working-level talks next week to produce a protocol for the verification of the North’s nuclear declaration.

The six nations participating in the nuclear talks will then reportedly hold a meeting of their own in China next week, or early next month, to conclude discussions on the verification plan based on the talks between Pyongyang and Washington.

A diplomatic source said Friday that Washington believes the details of the mechanism to verify the declaration should be completed and the verification process started sometime before August eleventh — the expected date of the North's removal from the U.S. terrorism sponsor list.
