The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said....Foreign Minister Han Seung-soo, concurrently president of the 56th U.N. General Assembly (UNGA) session, on Monday accepted this year's Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of the U.N. in Oslo, Norway. U.S. Secretary-General Kofi Annan was recently named co-recipient of this year's Nobel Peace Prize along with the world body. At a joint news conference with Annan at the Nobel Institute on Sunday, Han said that the United Nations will make efforts to further contribute to world peace and security, and offered words of encouragement to all U.N. officials across the world.
