Gaeseong Trip Scheduled for Separated Families

The North Jeolla branch of Korea Railroad (KORAIL) will operate a one-time service to Gaeseong in North Korea for people forced to leave their hometown across the border during the Korean War.

The service will be offered to mark Chuseok — the Korean Thanksgiving Day.

The train will leave Jeonju for Gaeseong at around midnight on September seventh and will return to the South Korean city at 11:30 p.m. on the eighth.

The tour includes three meals and will cost some 260 U.S. dollars. Reservations must be made before August 20th.
