Group Asks US to Reconsider NK Delisting

A civic group working for human rights of North Korean escapees and South Koreans abducted by North Korea has called on U.S. President George W. Bush to reconsider the plan to remove Pyongyang from its terrorism sponsor list.

Washington is expected to drop the North from the list on August eleventh.

In a news conference in front of the U.S. Embassy in Seoul Thursday, the group requested Bush review the matter, saying that Pyongyang has not yet even apologized to South Korea for the shooting death of a South Korean tourist at the North’s Mount Geumgang resort.

The group also claimed that Pyongyang has been uncooperative with the investigation into the case.
