The body of a North Korean soldier found in the Imjin River basin will be returned to North Korea.

A military official said the United Nations Command (UNC) will send the body through the Military Armistice Commission at the border village of Panmunjeom on Friday.

The official said that on July 27th, the body of a man suspected to have been a first lieutenant of the North Korean People’s Army was found in the river near Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

The UN informed the North of the discovery, and Pyongyang responded on Wednesday with its intention to take the body.
