The remains of a North Korean soldier have been sent to North Korea.

The U.N. Command in South Korea handed over the remains to the North at the truce village of Panmunjeom Friday morning through its Military Armistice Commission.

The remains were found near the Imjin River in Gyeonggi Province on July 27th after days of heavy downpour. The river flows from the North across the border into the South.

The U.N. Command negotiated the return of the remains with the North via the armistice commission.
