The Independence Hall of Korea will hold a special photo exhibition in China, displaying pictures dealing with Korean modern history.

The photo exhibition to be held at the South Korean Embassy in Shanghai will run from August eighth through the 30th, consisting of about 170 photographs and sketches on historic moments in the nation’s modern history.

An official at the hall said Friday that the event was organized to help Chinese better understand the past and present of Korea.

The special exhibition will also take place in other major parts of Shanghai during "Korea Week" scheduled for late September.
