S.Koreans in Geumgang Ordered Out

North Korea said Saturday it will expel "unnecessary" South Koreans from Mount Geumgang resort beginning Sunday.

A spokesman for the North Korean military at the Mount Geumgang district said the first targets of the expulsion will be all South Korean workers from the state-run Korea Tourism Organization and government officials at the recently completed permanent reunion center for separated family members.

The Unification Ministry in Seoul says there are no government officials staying at the resort, adding that the South Korean officials the North referred to seemed to be two employees of the tourism agency and construction workers at the reunion center.
