South Korean investigators say a South Korean tourist was shot by a North Korean soldier at 5:15 a.m. on July eleventh at the North’s Mount Geumgang resort.

The investigators held a news conference on Tuesday stating that Park Wang-ja is believed to have been shot at around 5:15 a.m. about 200 meters away from the fence dividing the North’s military area from the resort area, after having passed the fence at 5:06 a.m.

Investigators made the claim based on witness testimony and photos from the scene.

The chief of South Korean investigators, Hwang Bu-gi, disputed North Korea's claim that Park was spotted by North Korean guards some 800 meters inside the fenced-off prohibited area.
