North Korean employees at the Gaeseong Industrial Complex will see a five-percent pay raise starting this month.

An association of South Korean business firms operating in the inter-Korean industrial complex said Wednesday that it decided to accept the North Korean authorities' request for a five-percent wage increase.

Under the agreement, the minimum wage for a North Korean worker will go from 53 dollars 50 cents to about 55 dollars per month.
