The nation’s top nuclear envoy will meet with his U.S. counterpart in New York on Friday.

Kim Sook and Christopher Hill are likely to focus discussions on measures to verify North Korea’s nuclear programs and ways to push ahead with the six-way nuclear talks.

After wrapping up his U.S. trip, Kim will travel to Tokyo for similar discussions with his Japanese counterpart Akitaka Saiki.

Saiki will brief Kim on the results of talks held earlier this week with North Korea on the issue of Japanese nationals abducted by the communist state.
