Int'l Theater Festival to Open in Suwon on Friday

The 12th Suwon Hwaseong Fortress Theatre Festival will be held for 10 days starting Friday at various places in Suwon, including Hwaseo Park, the Gyeonggi Arts Center, and KBS Suwon Art Hall.
Against the backdrop of the Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO world heritage site, the festival will feature 21 performances by 21 troupes from seven countries, including Bulgaria, Australia, Russia, Finland, Italy, Belgium and Korea.
In addition, a variety of events and exhibitions will add to the festivities.
The opening ceremony will be held at Hwaseongmun Plaza at 8:00 p.m. Friday, after a number of traditional events such as a reenactment of a royal procession and a shamanic exorcism performance.
