More People to Leave Mt. Geumgang

The number of South Koreans and foreigners staying at North Korea’s Mount Geumgang resort will shrink to 199 on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the Unification Ministry said the 199 will include 74 South Koreans and 125 foreigners.

A North Korean tourism official visited Hyundai Asan’s Geumgang office Thursday and asked for a decrease in the number of South Koreans and foreigners staying at the resort. Hyundai Asan is the South Korean operator of tour programs to Mount Geumgang.

The ministry official said, according to Hyundai Asan, 123 South Koreans and foreigners will leave North Korean soil before Wednesday.
