Nuclear Envoy Suggests Patience with N.Korea

The nation’s top envoy to the six-party nuclear talks, Kim Sook, has called for patience with North Korea regarding the creation of a concrete verification framework.

Kim, who held talks with his American counterpart Christopher Hill Friday, told reporters that Washington and Pyongyang still remain divided over the details of a proposed verification protocol.

Kim added that it will take more time to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, a high-ranking official in Seoul said the situation is not hopeless, although the two sides seem to have had a difficult time reaching an agreement.

The official added that all necessary actions should be taken before the end of October as the six parties agreed to implement the second-phase of the North's denuclearization by that time.
